How to Pay Tala Loan via MPesa Paybill

How to pay Tala loan via MPesa paybill number 851900:

  1. Open your M-Pesa menu on your phone
  2. Select “Lipa na M-Pesa
  3. Choose the “Paybill” option.
  4. Enter the Paybill number 851900.
  5. Enter the M-Pesa number on which you received your Tala loan as the account number.
  6. Enter the amount you would like to pay.
  7. Enter your M-Pesa pin.
  8. Confirm all the details are correct, and press “OK.”

Your Tala loan repayment will be processed, and you will receive a confirmation message from Mpesa and Tala that you have sent the payment to Tala Mobile.

How to Pay Tala Loan via the App

An alternative way to pay Tala loan is by using M-Pesa Xpress. This is where you initiate the loan repayment via the Tala mobile app. You will get a push notification to your phone requesting input of the M-PESA PIN to complete the transaction.

Follow these steps to repay your loan via the Tala loan app;

  1. Download the Tala Loan app from the Google Play if you haven’t already.
  2. Launch the app and log in to your Tala account
  3. Select My Loan and Tap on Pay
  4. Select the amount or enter the amount you want to pay, then tap Pay
  5. You will receive an STK pop-up notification on your phone asking you to input your M-Pesa PIN.
  6. Enter your M-Pesa PIN and send

The loan interest rates for most Tala customers start at 15%, and they are eligible for fees as low as 5% as they build their credit history with Tala.

First, log in to your Tala account, then tap the “View details” on the Home Screen button to check your loan balance.

What Happens if You Don’t Pay Tala Loan?

Late Payments

If you fail to pay your Tala loan by midnight on your due date, you will be charged a one-time 8% late interest on your outstanding balance.

Non-Payments

If you do not repay your loan on time, you may be contacted by the collections agents. In case of long periods of non-payment, You will be reported to the relevant Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) for blacklisting, which may affect your ability to borrow from Tala and other lenders such as Zenka, Branch, and Timiza.
