How to Pay Hustler Fund in Kenya
Financial Inclusion Fund (FCF) or Hustler fund is an affordable credit at low interest (8% per annum) that offers affordable loans for personal, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Kenya. The fund offers two types of loans – Personal loans and Bishara loans, to help individuals start or grow their businesses.
There are two ways to pay Hustler Fund loan in Kenya;
- Using the MPesa app
- Using USSD Code *254#
How to Pay Hustler Fund via the MPESA App
If you are a smartphone user and prefer to use the MPESA App to repay your Hustle Fund Loan, here is how to go about it;
- Open the MPESA app and log in using your PIN or Biometrics.
- Scroll down to Public Sector and select Hustler Fund.
- Wait for the mini-program to load, then tap Repay Loan.
- Enter the amount and tap on the Repay button.
- Next, tap on Pay and enter your mobile money PIN.
You will receive a confirmation from Hustler Fund that you’ve paid your loan. The MPESA app is available for Download and Installation for Android and iOS users in the Google Play and App Store, respectively.
The process is more or less the same if you are using the MyAirtel App or Telkom’s T-Kash app.
How to Pay Hustler Fund via USSD Code
If you have a feature phone (Kabambe) or you prefer using a USSD code, here is how to repay your hustler fund loan using *254#:
- Dial *254# on your phone.
- Select Hustler Funs
- Then choose Personal Loan
- Select Repay Loan, then Select Pay for Self
- Select either the full or the partial amount of payment
- Enter the amount to pay and Confirm
- Enter your MPESA PIN and send.

What Happens if You Don’t Pay Hustlers Fund?
Your credit rating will be negatively impacted if you fail to repay the Hustler Fund loan within the stipulated 14-day repayment period. You will lose your loan limit and your ability to borrow in the future.
The government may institute other necessary measures to recover the defaulted amount from the customer. For example, the government may seize your accrued Hustler Fund savings to mitigate against losses.
Secondly, if you default on the loan for more than 30 days, your Hustler Fund account will be frozen, and you will lose all the accumulated credit scores.
Additionally, you will be charged a 1.5% default rate on the amount you owe, bringing the effective interest rate to 9.5% per annum.
If you default on your Hustler Fund loan, you will not be listed on CRB. Thus, this will not affect your debtor’s credit score with other lenders.
A borrower who defaults may repay the entire loan amount at once or in installments. Once the loan is fully repaid, the loan contract is closed, and the customer can request another loan.
